How to Control Remote Computer with Remote Desktop

Sometimes our friends or family need our help to fix the computer / laptop that was error, but our friends are located in a place far enough for us to meet. If the computer is our friend is still connected to the local network (LAN) or the Internet, we can still help without having to see him. We can make the computer control of our computers with Remote Desktop facility.
We can control / control a computer from another computer on the local computer network environment / Local Area Networ (LAN) or via the Internet.
The main requirement to be able to control the other computer is the computer each have installed the client software and servers. Software to control the computer remotely is called the Remote Desktop application.
On Microsoft operating systems from Microsoft Windows XP, Remote Desktop application is automatically installed when you install Windows XP is. But to be able to run it we need to apply the settings first.
To run Remote Desktop, we need at least 2 computers (PCs) which are installed Remote Desktop application. How to do settingnya is as follows.
To help us understand how setting and Remote Desktop connection, then I will give the name of each computer is as follows:

    * Computer ye => CLIENT
    * Computers friend => SERVER

Setting the Computer Server
1. Right-click My Computer and select Properties. click the Remote tab and check / checklist on writing Allow users to connect Remotely to this computer. Then click OK.

   
2. Open the Windows Firewall settings, how to click Start> Control Panel> Windows Firewall, then click the Exceptions tab and tick the checklist on writing Remote Desktop.

   
3. And last make sure your computer has an administrator password, if no way is to make it click Start> Control Panel> User Accounts, then click the user name that has Computer Administrator status. Click on Create a password, then enter the password you want and enter the same password at the bottom and click Create password. If there is a question "Do you want to make your files and folders private?" click the Yes, Make Private.

   
4. Write down the IP address of this computer, click a symbol of how the Internet Connection / Local Area Connection in the bottom right corner and then click the Support tab and note the IP address of this computer.

   
5. Write down the User Name is the way the computer click Start then the user name will appear on the top side of the Start Menu Start Menu if you are using is not the Classic Start Menu.


Setting the Server computer has finished, now you can not connect Remote Desktop from your computer (CLIENT).
How to Make Remote Desktop connection from the computer CLIENT

1. Run Remote Desktop Connection application, do I click Start> All Programs> Accessories> Communications> Remote Desktop Connection.

2. Click the Options button>>, enter Hostname / destination IP address, User name and password destination computer. For example as shown below, then click the Connect button.


If successful, the screen will show you the same desktop computer you goals. Now from here you are able to do whatever control using your mouse and keyboard.

In addition to Remote Desktop application, there are other applications that could be an alternative option with more features than just Remote Desktop and with better speed, eg Remote Administrator (Radmin) and Virtual Network Connection (VNC).
Note:

    * If the destination computer using Speedy connection, then you have to do Port Forwarding settings on the ADSL modem used by the computer SERVER. How to Port Forwarding settings depending on the brand of ADSL modem respectively, for the prompts you can see in www.portforward.com as reference material. Find instructions in accordance with the brand and type of ADSL modem you.
    * In the event of Remote Desktop connection, the server computer can not do activities because the server computer will be in a position log off. This would be different if you use other software such as Radmin and VNC
